WE WON OUR CLIENT $859,000 FOR AN INJURY SUSTAINED BY A NJ RECYCLING TRUCK
Disclaimer: Your results may vary based on the legal circumstances of your case.
One day, our client was walking down the street enjoying her day, not knowing that she’d spend her night undergoing intensive surgery. She thought nothing of the recycling truck picking up the street’s recycling across the lane from her.
As she was walking, she was struck by a large recycling can that had been jettisoned from the mechanical arm of truck. It had been dislodged from the holding mechanism and then shot over the truck as the mechanical arms were raised, sailing through the air and striking our client. The injuries to her neck required intensive surgery.
GETTING JUSTICE FOR OUR PERSONAL INJURY CLIENTS
As a result of her injuries, our client had suffered physical and emotional pain, as well as monetary losses as a result of expensive medical bills. She sought our help in pursuing justice against those liable for her injuries, and we took her case to court to get her the compensation she deserved.
The operator of the truck and the management of the recycling company denied that our client was struck by a recycling can. They admitted that it was possible for these recycling cans to be dislodged, but they insisted that our client was lying about being struck by the flying recycling can, even though she had to undergo a serious spinal surgery to treat her injuries.
No offers were made and the case was taken to a jury trial that lasted over a week. Mr. Hollawell proved to the jury that the recycling company staff and management were not being truthful and that our client was indeed struck by a recycling can from their truck due to the company’s negligence. The jury rendered a verdict in favor of the client in the amount of $859,000.
